Event #22

Igudesman & Joo

Play it again

Encores are often the best part of a show. Then why not start directly from the end? What would happen if every performance were an encore? An exclusive preview for the audience of Festival della Mente, the new show by Igudesman & Joo is upside down, inside-out, backwards, setting off from the public's request to “Play It Again” to deliver an hour and a half of talent and entertainment. Performing in a sort of global esperanto that the entire world can understand – Joodesmanish – Igudesman & Joo will also incorporate requests from the audience, allowing their active participation. And transforming the evening into a unique event.

Igudesman & Joo

Aleksej Igudesman (violinist born in Leningrad)  and Hyung-ki Joo (British-Korean pianist) are musicians and composers who have taken the world by storm with their performances – an exhilarating mix of classical music, comedy and pop culture. Their YouTube videos boast more than 28 million views, and the duo has appeared on television in many countries. They are at home in a classical music hall as well as in a stadium holding 18.000 people, pursuing their mission of making classical music accessible to a yoiunger and vaster audience. The great names of classical music – from Emanuel Ax to Joshua Bell, Janine Jansen, Gidon Kremer, Mischa Maisky, Viktoria Mullova up to Julian Rachlin – have made their way into their crazy musical sketches.
