the first European festival on creativity

2016 Programme

Event #19

Massimiano Bucchi

The best ideas of our lives. Make room for innovation (the real kind)

What do we talk about when we speak of innovation? Behind this over-used word are actual pathways, winding and fascinating. From the fork to the kalashnikov, from the mouse to spaghetti westerns, some of the intuitions that have changed our lives came about from collective processes that cannot be traced back to the ingenuity of an isolated genius. Turning points in technology but also in ideas, like the QWERTY keyboard sequence we all use daily or the Fosbury style jump. From culture to tech, from sports to cinema and even to the food we eat, we unravel the curious and informative tale – to which the audience of the Festival will be invited to contribute – of small turning points that have brought on great changes.
