Jorge Valdano
Jorge Valdano Jorge Valdano, footballer, was a member of the Argentina team who won the world championship in 1986; the following year he ended his career with Real Madrid where he stayed on as general manager. Nicknamed “the philosopher”, he started writing in 1994. He has recently written: Il sogno di Futbolandia. Appunti di vita e di calcio (Mondadori, 2004).
