Anna Bonaiuto
Anna Bonaiuto reads Elena Ferrante
Exclusively for Festival della Mente, and for the first time before an audience, Anna Bonaiuto reads L’amica geniale, the first volume of the four-book series by Elena Ferrante, finally giving a “voice” to the writer that everybody loves but no one knows. The expressive intensity of an artistic reading will lead us into the magical world created by Ferrante, from 50's-era Naples to the present – a tale of women shaped by the reality surrounding them, more often still by men, yet always lively and full of passion. Balancing unresolved rivalry with a deep understanding of each other, the novel's two protagonists, Lila and Elena, in their teenage years, come alive through the words of one of Italy's most poignant actresses.
