Event #3
Eraldo Affinati, Salvatore Lombardo
An act of humanity to be performed
The event has been moved from Chiostro di San Francesco to Auditorium I.I.S. Parentucelli-Arzelà
Faced with the mass migrations we are witnessing today, it would be an illusion to believe that the resulting problems may be delegated solely to state political and administrative leaders. Europe, in particular, is an anthropological laboratory in full ferment. Certainly, not even a collective policy will be enough to fix things. «There is an act of humanity to be performed» wrote Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, which each of us is called to, to give meaning and value to the emotions we feel when we encounter people of different cultures. A writer and passionate teacher, and a member of the High Commission for Refugees, lead a conversation about these crucial issues from a 20th century perspective.
