2023 Programme
Event #11
Ersilia Vaudo
Mirabilis
There are two intertwining narrators that describe the Universe to us: light and gravity. A world of wonders opens before us, exciting ‘shocks of reality’ – as Victor Hugo called them – in the vague idea of the world that we can experience as human beings. We navigate between changing points of reference, beliefs left behind and surprising observations. Seeing things from a new perspective is difficult, but it is at the heart of revolution. Something new enters our viewpoint, and afterwards we are no longer the same. Science thus becomes the greatest of adventures, an access to inaccessible worlds, outside the capability of our senses, yet part of a reality that is beyond us but to which we belong. And which we try to understand.
