Peter Frankopan

is a historian at Oxford University and a senior research fellow at Worcester College. He also directs the Oxford Centre for Byzantine Research. His research is focused on the history of the Mediterranean, Russia, the Middle East, Persia, central Asia and on the relationship between Christianity and Islam. He is a contributing writer for international newspapers such as the New York Times, the Financial Times and the Guardian. The New Statesman called him «the rock star of History». His new book, Le vie della seta (Mondadori) comes out at the beginning of September.
